For those of you who are familiar with the highly listenable film critic Mark Kermode, in particular his weekly spot on Simon Mayo’s Five Live programme (the film reviews are on Fridays at around 3pm, get them on podcast at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/kermode/ - great listening for running), you’ll know that a frequent topic of conversation is whether only crap films are advertised on buses.

Well, the view out of my office window (www.katapult-studios.com) puts me in a great position to put this theory to the test - though it’s going to rely on the input of film-goers. As we have a bus-stop right outside our office front door, and given that we are on the first floor, I get a regular eye-level view of the latest bus-advertised films. So, I’m going to undertake to photograph every ’film ad on a bus’ that I see whilst in the office (and will instruct my colleagues to capture any that pass whilst I am out) and then throw it out to the world wide web as to whether that film merits a description to the effect of ‘crap’.

I am writing this first post from home so I don’t have any pics to post as yet. However, the ad I saw yesterday that inspired me to get this experiment/project underway was ‘Made of Honor’. It certainly looked crap but I can’t say that I’m ever going to be able to offer an opinion that is based on having seen the film. However, I am attending the opening of the UK’s first Showcase Cinema De Lux on Thursday & the feature presentation has yet to be revealed so there might be a delicious irony in the offing (Please, please let it be be Ironman).
